Why we build our tiny campers with simplicity in mind.

Not that long ago, I ran across a reference to the “most affordable” teardrop. I was curious, so just like they hoped, I clicked through to take a look. Sure enough, it had a low base price, but it wasn’t really something that would meet the needs of most people. By the time I added on basic features I would want in a camper, it was priced substantially higher. After this exercise, I looked at more campers extolling themselves as the cheapest or most inexpensive. When comparably equipped, each of them were priced in the same neighborhood as our Gateway Teardrops campers. 

At Gateway Teardrops, we aren’t trying to build the cheapest camper around. Generally, you get what you pay for. We strive for quality in every camper we build. 

We like to say, “You dream it. We build it. You love it.” Each of our campers are carefully handcrafted by me, my brother and my son with the same care as if we were building them for ourselves. We build them to last for generations so we don’t pack them full of the latest electronic gadgets that will be obsolete in a few years. We don’t fill them up with appliances that will eventually have to be replaced. We design and build our tiny campers to provide adventurers with a secure, comfortable place to enjoy a good night’s sleep after a great day of their favorite outdoor (and sometimes indoor) pursuit. How you make it uniquely yours is better left to you. We feel that you can better decide what gear you need to complete your camper than we can.
